The Petr Janacek Legacy Collection

Teacher, painter, and sculptor Petr Jandacek loves the natural texture and grain of wood. He says, ”I virtually never paint wood. It would be like decoupaging the Sistine Chapel, you better not do it.” Petr and his wife Louse came to Los Alamos in 1972 after serving in the Peace Corp in Jamaica. He taught art to three generations of Los Alamos students in Los Alamos High School and Barranca and Pinon Elementary Schools. He is also known for his Chautauqua presentations as Utzi and Toulouse-Lautrec.
